DocuSign Anchor Tag Configuration

Guidance is now available for configuring the DocuSign anchor tags used by the eSignature task. Documents sent for signing carry anchor tags for signature, initials, date signed and print name fields, and creating the matching shared Document Custom Fields in your DocuSign account ensures these signing fields are placed automatically on every envelope.

There are two parts to the configuration. The document template carries the tag for each recipient, for example \s1\ for the first signer, which is covered in the Document Generation guide. The DocuSign account then needs a Document Custom Field whose Auto-Place Text uses {r} in place of the recipient number, for example \s{r}\, with the corresponding field type selected and the Shared checkbox ticked. If a tag has no matching shared custom field, it will still appear in the document but no signing field will be created on the envelope.
