Association Subtype in Advanced Reporting

Advanced Reporting now exposes the association subtype for related party records through a new subtype column on the relatedparties dataset. This makes it possible to report on the specific business relationship behind Product and Agency associations, which previously could not be distinguished from one another.

Until now, the relatedparties dataset projected only the association type. For standard related party associations this type is the business relationship (for example Director or Shareholder). For Product and Agency associations, however, type is a fixed value (product or agencyRequest) used to set those associations apart, and the meaningful relationship was not available in reporting.

This release enables you to:

  • Report on the specific Product relationship for an entity (for example Owner, Guarantor or Co-signer) using the new subtype column
  • Report on the specific Agency relationship for an entity (for example Underlying Principal) using the new subtype column
  • Distinguish Product and Agency associations from one another, and from standard related party associations, within the same dataset
  • Query historic associations as well as new ones — existing records have been backfilled so the subtype column is populated across the full dataset

The existing type column is unchanged, so reports and extracts that rely on it today continue to behave exactly as before. For standard related party associations the subtype column is empty.

The FenX assistant has also been updated to interpret these relationships. When you ask for entities with a given Product or Agency relationship, the assistant now constrains its generated query to the subtype column for those associations, while continuing to use type for standard related party relationships.
